White Barn Meadows Begins

Welcome to White Barn Meadows! I am so excited to have you here! The road getting here has been bumpy, curvy, rough then slowly started to smooth out! It started in college when I became a biology major and fell in love with all things botany! What I thought I wanted was to teach, I LOVE high school kids, their humor, raw emotions, and just overall personalities fit me to a tee! I seriously love being around them and wholeheartedly knew I would be a rock star teacher! God had other plans, he blessed me with my husband in 2002 and with my first kid (2003) during my first year of starting the process of obtaining my teaching certificate. I slowed down on classes to focus on being a mom, then I became pregnant with my second child the semester before I was supposed to student teach and finish my certificate. I just could not fathom not being at home and raising my beautiful babies. I put my original dreams aside, welcomed my third baby 14 months after my second was born and dove head first into motherhood. Throughout the 17 years of being a stay at home momma I did little odds and ends to make a little extra cash, but honestly nothing ever stuck. My mind wonders ALOT! I need scenery change, I need creativity, I need to work with my hands, I need to see instant gratification. 19 years later we purchase our little slice of heaven in New Hudson, MI, I took a building substitute position at Brighton High School (those who can´t teach sub LOL) and started planning a cut flower farm! It´s perfect for me! I get to grow beautiful flowers, get down and dirty, create amazing bouquets and make life a little more colorful! Although I truly love being a sub at the high school, I mean who wouldn´t, I hope to become a full time flower farmer in the very near future. I am so excited for you to follow along, grow and learn with me and most importantly I LOVE all of your cheering and support!
